You know, some days...

There are days that are bad, days that good, great and fun and then there are days were you are missing someone so close to you that you can't breathe, you can't call them because where ever they are you're pretty sure they don't have a phone. I am not talking about missing an ex lover or missing your boyfriend or your very best friend. I am talking about missing somebody that is physically not around you anymore. It makes me so sick to my stomach. This feeling that I will never ever get to read another art book with them or watch a documentary on something and then talk about it with our strong opinions.. I will never get to have a tea with them or call them or watch their creativity move the people around them. I will never get to see how much they love me or tell me how proud they are of me. I will never get to introduce them to the things I am now interested in or tell them that they are my biggest inspiration in life.. Nope, never again. All I can do now is read these books alone, watch these documentary's on my own and talk to a picture... These are the worst kind of days.

Time, Where Art Thou?

Ok, it is already November, this is unbelievable. There are only seven weeks until Christmas! This year has been an incredible life changing one... Uni is so full on, I have so much to do that I am doing nothing at all! Eek! I am already starting on my New Year Resolution list, and it is going to be a long one..

Oh hello effort

Having the need to continuously improve myself takes effort! So much in fact that I haven't yet started! Today is Monday, so what better day to start. I am going for a walk/jog with my dog. If I get rained on, its fine, the world doesn't hate me. It just means that it is time to wash my hair, those are not intentional dreadlocks... 

Bare with me

Please, I am about to get deep. I want change. I want TO change. My attitude, my outlook and my underpants! Ok, that's as deep as I can get. No, really! I want to be that cool, calm and collected person, that smiles, has feelings, says sweet things, means those sweet things and finally, I want to BE happy and healthy.. I have thought these things many more times than just this once and it hasn't gone quite as planned. I swear, I drink wine in abundance and when I play Call of Duty, things get real nasty, real quick! It's bad and I think I even scared my dude friend last time! Oops! Sorry! Maybe I have small man syndrome, I blame it on small man syndrome. I mean it's a syndrome, i can't help it, can I?

Well let's see how far I get with this...

Neon Braids

I got this fab neon braid DIY off Mr. Kate and literally haven't stopped making them. I've been adapting them and putting gold rings, beads and wire with them. Everyone is putting their orders in. This is all my friends and family are getting for Christmas. They can be used as necklaces/headbands or bracelets.

Ok, so usually I would mention one hilarious or super smart, talented blogger/designer/funny person here but I think I'll talk about two people I am giggling over today. The first is Mark Wahlberg's character Terry Hoitz in the movie The Other Guys. The subtle humour is so clever, I think he should be in more comedy films. Is there nothing that this man can not do? It. Is. Just. So. Damn. Funny...

Normally, it takes alot for music to resonate with me, but this song by Adalita, Magic Dirt's front woman is one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard. Everything about this almost acoustic album is amazing. Check out her solo work here...

I have nothing nice to say, so I may as well become mute

You know the old saying if you have nothing nice to say then don't say anything at all. So today I may as well have become a mute, not spoken one word! I have had nothing but negative and insulting things come out of my mouth all day. I am aware of this but it is something that was out of my control. I am having negative thoughts flying around my head minute-by-minute, for absolutely no reason. Even the things I am saying that are suppose to even remotely more kind are coming out as uncouth sayings. 

Am I the only one?

So this is what happens to me on an almost daily basis... I sit down, with all of my books on my desk, my textbook, mac and all things study and oh, wait! Is that dust on my t.v? Can I see a coffee stain on my desk? I better get that off there. The seven foot pile of magazines in my cabinet aren't lined up correctly, I should fix that. Once I have said and done all of these things... I might open my window right up, it's such a lovely day. Lunch time! Back to study! Ok, the Fitzgerald Enquiry... Tony Fitzgerald lambasted the local media... 1989... I should get around to cleaning my windows, Actually, I'll do that right now! I do the outside of them too. So I sit back down and, I might vacuum my room, no, the house. While I am vacuuming, my sheets may as well be washing, I'll do that now! I have to work tomorrow so I may as well wash/blow-dry/straighten my hair now. Done, ok! Everything is clean. Study time, remembering I do want to be a journo one day... Oh my sheets are probably dry, I'll bring them in and make my bed! So fresh. What was I doing? That's right! I think I'll go for a walk and buy some dinner.. Something nice, I'll make A something lovely, I may as well drink some wine while I am cooking, 1 2 3 glasses later... This is pretty much how my days go when I try to study. Does this happen to you too?

And so were the days

I picked up a Vogue the other day at a newsagents and flicked straight to my favourite part of ANY magazine, the editors letter - 1, 3, 5, 6, 16 or so pages in past the Chanel, Givenchy, Dior, Balenciaga, Lois Vuitton and beyond ads there it was. I wonder if this international fashion bible has always been so... I am going to say it... DULL! By the time that I finally found the ed's letter I was bored out of my brain. I am interested to flick through some vintage Vogue's... To see the difference in story ideas, models, models figures and how much the worlds eye towards fashion has changed... The covers certainly are more naturally fantastic!
